Biography
Rose Tailor is a contemporary author whose work has been described as "dreamlike and compelling" by critics worldwide. With a unique ability to weave intricate narratives that challenge readers' perceptions of reality, Markheim has established themselves as a distinctive voice in modern literature.
Born in Portland, Oregon, Markheim developed an early passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from classic literature, surrealist art, and the natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. After completing an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University, they published their debut novel, which quickly garnered critical acclaim and a devoted readership.
Over the past decade, Markheim has published seven novels and numerous short stories, each exploring themes of consciousness, identity, and the liminal spaces between waking and dreaming. Their work has been translated into 23 languages and has received multiple literary awards.
When not writing, Markheim enjoys hiking in the Cascade Mountains, collecting vintage typewriters, and mentoring emerging writers through various literary programs. They currently divide their time between Portland and a small cabin in the woods where many of their stories are born.
